The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, each coil in its own calico pocket to respond to weight independently. Vanadium steel maintains its tension longer than standard carbon steel, a property extended across the range. The Devonshire is available in four tensions — Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm — with King sizes splittable for different partner preferences. Two rows of hand side-stitching secure the border coils, and hand-tufting with felt washers anchors fillings to prevent lateral shifting and maintain a consistent sleeping surface over years of use.
